The 3,058 undergraduate vacancies are distributed across zones and categories (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) with reservation as per Government of India norms. Exact zone-wise and category-wise breakup is given in the official notification PDF.

Eligibility Criteria for RRB NTPC Inter Level 2025
All eligibility conditions are calculated with reference to 1 January 2026.
1. Educational Qualification
- 10+2 / Intermediate / 12th pass or equivalent from a recognized board.
- No minimum percentage is prescribed (pass in 12th is sufficient).
- Candidates awaiting 12th result or with incomplete qualification are not eligible.
2. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years
Relaxations as per rules:
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
- SC/ST: +5 years
- PwBD candidates: +10 years (further relaxable if combined with SC/ST/OBC)
- Ex-Servicemen, railway staff, and other categories: relaxation as mentioned in CEN 07/2025.
Candidates whose age falls outside the permissible range after the calculation of relaxation will be rejected at any stage.
3. Nationality
You must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement, or
- A person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries and permanently settled in India (as per notification).

4. Medical Standards
- Medical fitness is post-specific and assessed by authorised railway medical authorities.
- Many safety or traffic-related posts may require higher medical standards (e.g., A-1) in terms of vision, colour perception, hearing, etc.
- Candidates found medically unfit for a post will not be appointed, even if they clear exams and DV.

Typing Skill Test (TST) / Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
- TST:
- Conducted for posts like Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist.
- Typing speed requirement:
- 30 WPM in English OR
- 25 WPM in Hindi
- Test is qualifying in nature; marks are not added to the final merit, but failure means disqualification from those posts.
- CBAT:
